Many people come to our office because they have pain but there’s much more to chiropractic than pain.
Your nervous system (made up of your brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves) controls everything that you do! Your nervous system helps keep every other system (cardiovascular, digestive, reproductive, endocrine-hormones) all running at their best. When you have a misalignment in your spine, what chiropractors term “subluxation”, there is a disconnect between the controller (your brain) and the system that it controls (different nerves affect different systems). Each vertebrae has a spinal nerve exiting from the back, and those nerves control your organs.
Now that you understand how the nervous system affects your body, you’ll understand why we see patients who are not in pain. In our office, we see multiple people coming to us with sleep or digestive issues-knowing that chiropractic can fix these issues by adjusting subluxations of the spine.

Stress! There are different types of stress-physical (falls, cars accidents, repetitive activities that cause wear and tear), chemical (toxins-vaccines, environmental hazards, sugar/processed food), emotional (work or family stress, hectic daily lives-being too busy).
We can’t avoid stress in our lives. It is crucial to you and your family’s health that you find ways to combat the effects.
Gentle chiropractic adjustments are an excellent way to reset the nervous system to combat stress.
Your autonomic nervous system has two systems-Parasympathetic and Sympathetic.
Your parasympathetic is known as “rest and digest” and sympathetic is known as “fight or flight”. As you can probably conclude-the parasympathetic nervous system allows for proper digestion and feeling rested/proper sleep. The sympathetic nervous system is the stressed out system, imagine how you’d feel if a tiger or a bad guy were chasing you-that’s your sympathetic nervous system’s job to raise your stress level. Unfortunately, our society is stuck in sympathetic “fight or flight” a majority of the time-this leads to many health consequences and conditions (increased anxiety, hypertension, trouble sleeping-which can cause so many other health issues).
CHIROPRACTIC ACTUALLY CHANGES YOUR BRAIN! Based off of a 2016 study, it was shown that one chiropractic adjustment changes the prefrontal cortex of the brain by 20% from one adjustment. By changing the prefrontal cortex, chiropractic adjustments can improve-focus, coordination, memory, planning tasks, task initiation.
