Pregnancy is a wonderful time to begin chiropractic care! Because…
Women who sought out chiropractic during pregnancy are shown to have decreased labor times, decreased need for pain mediation, and a decrease in the need for medical intervention.
Patients under care in our office report decreased hip and low back pain, pubic pain, constipation, heart burn. They also report having improved sleep, energy, and quality of life after beginning care.
A high percentage of our patients are happy to report that their labor was free from back labor. This is a benefit resulting when there is correct fetal positioning from a balanced pelvis. “It has been reported that approximately 50% of all pregnant women experience back pain during their pregnancy and 50% to 75% of women experience back pain during labor.
Chiropractic during pregnancy is safe if being treated by a qualified and trained prenatal chiropractor.
Dr. Loveridge has received the best training in Prenatal Chiropractic through the ICPA by obtaining her Prenatal Certificate.

Causes of Dystocia (Difficult or obstructed labor): Power, Passage, Passenger
William’s Obstetrics defines dystocia-abnormalities of the Power – uterine contractility and maternal expulsive effort, Passenger – the fetus, and Passage – the pelvis and lower reproductive tract.
Power: The nervous system supplies the uterus/cervix in order for things to contract and dilate properly.
Passage: The pelvic canal is most unobstructed when the pelvis is aligned-sacrum and surrounding ligaments/muscles have balance.
Passenger: Fetal malpresentation is affected greatly when there is a sacral/pelvic subluxation.
The Webster Technique addresses all 3 P’s for a smooth labor and delivery!
The purpose of the Webster technique is to balance a women’s pelvis to be in optimal alignment for birth through adjustments to the sacral bone. This is important as imbalance in the bones, muscles, and ligaments of the pelvis and surrounding tissues can impact birth outcomes. Fetal malpresentation (“sunny side up”/occiput posterior OP, breech) is largely affected by biomechanical issues in the pelvis, primarily sacral bone subluxation. Chiropractic balances these structures and creates ample space for baby to get into the best position possible for birth. The pelvic canal is the most unobstructed when the sacrum, pubic bone and surrounding tissues are balanced as well-resulting in a much easier birth-increasing the success of a vaginal birth.
